NFL Playoffs 2022 - Divisional Round

By Thomas Kaunzner

After a weekend of exciting football and a controversial overtime rule only four teams are left in the battle for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

In the AFC the Kansas City Chiefs needed overtime to beat the Buffalo Bills 42-36 in arguably the most exciting game of this playoff round and possibly in playoff history. Even though the overtime rules for playoff games are open for debate again the Chiefs advanced to the AFC Championship Game for the fourth consecutive year.

The Cincinnati Bengals went to the number one seed Tennessee Titans and secured a 19-16 win with a last-second field goal from Evan McPherson.

The Los Angeles Rams will play hosts in the NFC Championship Game as they knocked out the defending Super Bowl Champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-27 at Raymond James Stadium.

The San Francisco 49ers celebrated another road win when they came out on top 13-10 at the number one seed Green Bay Packers. Robbie Gould scored a 45-yard field goal as time expired.

It only happened once before in the 1989 season that two teams from the NFC West met in the Conference Final. Incidentally, those two teams were the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers.
