Browns land Jason McCourty

The Cleveland Browns signed CB Jason McCourty to a two-year deal worth $6 million, with $2 million guaranteed.

The 29-year old was released by the Tennessee Titans in April after spending his entire eight-year NFL career with the franchise.

Jason McCourty brings experience and leadership to the rebuilding Cleveland Browns. He appeared in 102 games, amassing 508 total tackles, 1.0 sack and 13 interceptions.

He came back from a groin injury in 2015 and had 69 total tackles and 2 interceptions last season.

Jason McCourty will more than likely start for a defense that allowed 249.8 passing yards per game in 2016, ranking them 21st.

LeGarrette Blount joins Eagles

RB LeGarrette Blount joins the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year contract. According to sources, the deal could be worth a maximum of $2.8 million.

The 30-year led the league with 18 rushing touchdowns last season and had a career-best 1,161 rushing yards with the New England Patriots.

LeGarrette Blount joins a crowded backfield with Darren Sproles, Wendell Smallwoood, fourth-rounder Donnel Pumphrey and Ryan Mathews, though oft-injured Mathews seems to have played his final game in an Eagles uniform.

LeGarrette Blount is expected to line up on first and second downs as well as short yardage situations.

The eight-year pro out of Oregon won two Super Bowls (XLIX and LI) with the New England Patriots.
