The Carolina Panthers released five players following the draft.

S Tre Boston was cut after three seasons with the franchise. He played in 15 games last year and recorded 52 total tackles, 2 sacks and 2 interceptions.

Offensive tackles Jake Rodgers and Jordan Rigsbee were also released. The Panthers drafted OL Taylor Moton in the second round. The rookie from Western Michigan is versatile and can play right tackle as well as right guard. Taylor Moton will compete for a starting job.

FB Devon Johnson was waived as well, which explains the selection of FB Alex Armah in the sixth round. The 22-year old from West Georgia is as versatile as it gets. He played tight end as well as defensive end in college and could provide efficient blocking on offensive plays.

The last player the Panthers parted with is CB Louis Young. Carolina drafted CB Corn Elder in the fifth round. The 22-year old from Miami will compete for the nickelback slot and could make an immediate impact as kick returner.
