The Indianapolis Colts sign WR Kamar Aiken to a one-year contract. The 27-year old was Baltimore’s leading receiver in 2015 with 75 catches for 944 yards and 5 touchdowns but was increasingly overlooked last season when he caught only 29 passes for 328 yards and 1 touchdown. Kamar Aiken will have to compete for a starting job.
The New Orleans Saints sign LB Manti Te’o to a two-year contract. The 26-year old spent four seasons with the San Diego Chargers but played only three games last year before ending up on IR with a torn Achilles. Manti Te’o can be an impact player but is prone to injuries. He should be ready for training camp and battle for a starting job. Manti Te’o is best known for his girlfriend hoax while playing college football at Notre Dame.
The Miami Dolphins re-sign LB Kiki Alonso to a four-year deal worth $28.8 million, with $18.5 million guaranteed. The 26-year old played through injuries last season and recorded 115 total tackles, 1 forced fumble and 2 interceptions, including one pick-six, for the Fins. Kiki Alonso’s development should be interesting as the Dolphins want to move him to the weak side, whereas Alonso prefers to stay in the middle.
