G Calvin Pickard stopped 32 shots as the Colorado Avalanche (5-5) blank the Minnesota Wild (6-4-1) 1-0. It was Pickard’s first shutout of the season and second of his career. In three games he is 3-0 with a 1.66 GAA and a .944 save percentage.

LW James van Riemsdyk has 3 assists as the Toronto Maple Leafs (5-4-3) beat the Vancouver Canucks (4-7-1) 6-3. The 27-year old now has 4 goals and 6 assists in 12 games.

The game saw eight fighting majors and seven game misconducts as tempers flared in the third period. The Maple Leafs have now won three games in a row.

G Peter Budaj saved 24 shots as the Los Angeles Kings (6-6) blank the Calgary Flames (5-7-1) 5-0. It was Budaj’s first shutout since October 2013. He has a 2.06 GAA and a .912 save percentage in 10 games this season.

G Matt Murray recorded his first shutout of the season as the Pittsburgh Penguins (8-2-2) win at the San Jose Sharks (6-6) 5-0. The 22-year old now has two career shutouts and posts a 0.50 GAA with a .985 save percentage in two games this season.

LW Carl Hagelin registered 3 assists in the win, giving him 1 goal and 4 assists on the season. His second assist of the game was the 100th of his NHL career.
