RF Bryce Harper homers late in the game, as the Washington Nationals (84-58) blank the Philadelphia Phillies (63-79) 3-0 in game three of their four-game series.
The Nationals broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the eighth inning. LF Ben Revere singled with one out and advanced to second base on a wild pitch. 2B Daniel Murphy walked next and Bryce Harper followed with a blast to deep right field to put Washington up 3-0.
CL Mark Melancon pitched a perfect ninth to earn his 40th save of the season. He posts a 1.64 ERA with a 0.96 WHIP on the year.
