The San Francisco Giants blank the Miami Marlins as they win 1-0 in the rubber game at Marlins Park.

SS Brendan Crawford’s leadoff home run in the fourth inning was the difference maker in this game. It was his 11th long ball of the year.

CL Santiago Casilla gave up a hit to RF Ichiro Suzuki in the ninth but didn’t surrender a run to earn his 26th save of the season. He now posts a 2.78 ERA with a 1.15 WHIP.

San Francisco’s SP Jeff Samardzija (10-8) pitched 5.2 scoreless innings, allowing 3 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3. He has a 4.23 ERA with a 1.23 WHIP on the season.

Miami’s SP David Phelps (5-6) made his second start since transitioning from the bullpen. He went 5 innings, giving up 4 hits, 3 walks and 1 earned run while fanning 5. He has a 2.40 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP to show for this year.

The San Francisco Giants (65-49) return home to host a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles (63-49) from Friday to Sunday.

The Miami Marlins (60-54) continue their homestand with a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox (54-58) from Friday through Sunday.
