Giants with Comeback Win against Diamondbacks

The San Francisco Giants (56-33) come from behind as they beat the Arizona Diamondbacks (38-51) 4-2 in game two of their three-game series.

The Giants were the first team to score. LF Angel Pagan hit a single with two outs and went on to steal second base shortly afterwards. 1B Brandon Belt followed with a triple and drove in Angel Pagan for the 1-0 lead in the third inning.

1B Paul Goldschmidt hit a double to start the fourth. Three straight singles by 3B Jake Lamb, RF Yasmany Tomas and LF Brandon Drury followed, producing two runs for the Diamondbacks.

San Francisco regained the lead in the bottom of the frame. SS Brandon Crawford reached on an infield single and 2B Grant Green homered him in with his first long ball of the season.

The Giants doubled their lead in the sixth inning. PH Gregor Blanco drew a leadoff walk and came home on a one-out double from 3B Ruben Tejada to put San Francisco up 4-2.

CL Santiago Casilla earned his 21st save of the season with a one-hit inning in the ninth. He posts a 2.86 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP this season.

Arizona’s SP Robbie Ray (4-8) worked 5 innings, allowing 6 hits, 3 walks and 3 earned runs while fanning 7. He has a 4.81 ERA this year with a 1.56 WHIP.

San Francisco’s SP Jake Peavy pitched only 4.1 innings, giving up 7 hits, 1 walk and 2 earned runs while striking out 3. He has a 5.09 ERA with a 1.45 WHIP on the season.

Grant Green went 1-for-2 with 1 run, 1 HR and 2 RBI. He is now batting .300 and has 5 runs, 1 HR and 5 RBI in eight games with the Giants.
