Marlins shut out Rockies

The Miami Marlins (37-32) beat the Colorado Rockies (32-36) 3-0 to win game three of their four-game series.

The Marlins have won five of their last six games, including three in a row against the Rockies, and move to second place in the NL East.

The only runs of the game came on a three-run blast from CF Marcell Ozuna. The 25-year old hammered the ball 448 ft. to left center, driving in 2B Derek Dietrich and 3B Martin Prado in the sixth inning. It was Marcell Ozuna’s 13th home run of the season.

CL A.J. Ramos pitched a perfect ninth inning and struck out two to earn his NL-leading 22nd save of the year. He now posts a 1.91 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP.

Colorado’s SP Tyler Anderson (0-1) pitched 5.2 innings, allowing 4 hits, 1 walk and 2 earned runs while striking out 4. He has a 2.25 ERA with a 0.92 WHIP on the season.

Miami’s SP Tom Koehler (6-6) worked 6 innings, giving up 2 hits and 6 walks while fanning 6. His ERA and WHIP improved to 3.92 and 1.49, respectively.

Marcell Ozuna went 3-for-4 with 1 run, 1 HR and 3 RBI. He is batting .319 this season and has 42 runs, 13 HR and 41 RBI.
