SP Wei-Yin Chen strikes out 12 and ties his career-high as the Miami Marlins beat the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2 to win their three-game series.

The Marlins set the foundation for their win in the fifth inning. RF Giancarlo Stanton drew a leadoff walk and 1B Justin Bour hit a home run to give the Fish a 2-0 lead.

CF Marcell Ozuna followed with a ground rule double and advanced to third base on a wild pitch from SP Chase Anderson. SS Adeiny Hechavarria hit a high flyball to right field and drove in Marcell Ozuna for Miami’s third run of the game.

The Brewers threatened with a comeback in the seventh inning. CF Alex Presley hit a one-out single and PH Colin Walsh walked. The Marlins decided that Wei-Yin Chen had done enough and replaced him with RP Bryan Morris.

Bryan Morris walked RF Domingo Santana, loading the bases with one out. SS Jonathan Villar hit into fielder’s choice and Alexis Presley came across home plate for Milwaukee’s first run of the night. The Brewers still had runners at the corners with two outs.

LF Ryan Braun followed with a single to center field and drove Colin Walsh home for another run. Jonathan Villar tried to advance to third base but was tagged for the final out before he reached the bag.

CL A.J. Ramos pitched a seemingly effortless 1-2-3 inning to secure the win for the Marlins. It was his 10th save of the season in 10 attempts.

Wei-Yin Chen (3-1) pitched 6.1 innings, allowing 6 hits, 2 walks and 2 earned runs. He now has a 4.40 ERA on the season with a 1.28 WHIP.

Chase Anderson (1-5) worked 6.0 innings, giving up 3 hits, 1 walk and 3 earned runs while striking out 4. His ERA and WHIP improved to 6.11 and 1.64, respectively.

The Milwaukee Brewers (14-20) return home to host the San Diego Padres (14-20) for a four-game series from Thursday to Sunday.

After a rest day tomorrow, the Miami Marlins (18-15) go on the road to play a four-game series at the Washington Nationals (21-13) from Friday through Sunday, including a double-header on Saturday.
